Our Design Process
Step 1 - Getting Started
It all usually begins with us asking you a few very important questions over the phone or in person at our showroom, which helps us determine the scope of the project and share a pretty good idea as to what you should plan on budgeting. Then, if you would like to proceed, one our designers will make a site visit to your house to take measurements of your existing kitchen or bath or review blueprints. From here, our team will move to creating 3D CAD drawings for your review. Yes, the design process has now officially begun.
Step 2 - Review and Refinement
During our next appointment, our designer will work closely to review detailed 3D designs and make any desired modifications. During this review and refinement process, we will also advance to the selection phase, choosing the cabinetry brand, accompanying door styles, countertops, hardware and more.
Step 3 – Design & Detail Finalization
Once the design is finalized, our team will provide you with full details on the cost, including: final cabinet pricing (including shipping), installation costs and any/all other associated costs for your project. In addition, an estimated project start date and completion date will be provided, based on the anticipated delivery of your cabinets and other materials required to complete your project.
We always share with our customers that the design itself rarely has a significant effect on the overall cost of your project.
Why? Because your project will vary greatly based on the selections you make throughout the process on things like countertops, appliances, door style, types of cabinet, finish, fixtures and more. That’s why we take the time and care to create the best design solutions for your project. It doesn’t cost anything extra to listen thoughtfully and get it right— and remember, at TDS, our design time is included in the price of your project.
